The Thurgau Throne Trail on Untersee is just the thing for a leisurely hike with fantastic views. Along the trail, more than ten creative and unusual thrones invite you to linger, rest and relax. Here it's time to take a seat, unwind and forget about everyday life.
One of the most beautiful village squares in Switzerland with a panoramic view and the Thurgau House of Literature to the side: the Gottlieber reading lounge invites you to immerse yourself in the books laid out for you or for two. And everyday life is already far away
Two lounging thrones, curved like the outflowing Seerhein, in the most beautiful spot above the waterfowl reserve and nature reserve in Ermatingen.
Two further privileged wooden reclining thrones are located on the Höhenweg, above Ermatingen, the pearl of Untersee. A not at all boring view from the Alps, over both parts of Lake Constance to the Hegau volcanoes.
In order to work the steep vineyards in Berlingen, donkeys used to be needed to carry the manure. Today, the carvings in the bench under the willow right by the lake are a reminder of this time.
The wave-like shape and color of the throne correspond perfectly with the lake. This is no coincidence, as this throne offers an enchanting panoramic view of the lake and the opposite shore.
The medieval ruins of Neuburg Castle above Mammern are the largest and most important castle complex on the southern shore of Untersee. Every damsel and lord of the castle can enjoy the knightly view from the royally decorated throne.
This is only possible on the Hollywood-inspired rocking bench. Here you can swing carefree and enjoy the breathtaking view from the Hochwacht.
Above the Sangis, you have a panoramic view from the lake over Eschenz to the Hegau. On this throne, you can immerse yourself in the Stone Age and, of course, the majestic view.
Here, where the lake becomes the Rhine, you can suddenly see the opposite bank up close. The view of the wild nature as the river rushes by awakens many dreams. Returning is like being carved in stone.
In the Schupfen, the pike invites you to take a seat. Because the glitter of the reflecting Rhine gives the wow effect. All that's missing is a jumping fish...
The artist Carl Roesch (1884-1979) provided the inspiration for this throne with his famous painting. The book niche directly on the Rheinquai invites you to linger. A cozy get-together is created here.
You can enjoy the unspoilt Rhine landscape with a magnificent view of the green banks. An ideal place for lasting moments.
