Romanshorn's harbor is one of the largest on Lake Constance. Reason enough to learn more about its history, Romanshorn's town life, and the surrounding Lake Constance. Captain Ruedi Fürst takes his guests on board the MS Zeppelin.
Welcome aboard
Strolling through the harbor, you can see the MS Zeppelin, covered in colorful flags, from afar. Once you arrive at the pier, passionate boat captain Ruedi Fürst welcomes his guests aboard the historic ship every Sunday during the summer months. Guests can enjoy the fresh sea breeze on the covered sundeck, or take advantage of the cozy interior when the temperature outside is cooler.
New Zealand follows suit
Once the ship has set sail, it sets course westward, past the Kornhaus (granary) and the shipyard of the Swiss Lake Constance Shipping Company. Guests are accompanied by a guide who provides insights into the history and present-day life of Romanshorn. Significant and curious facts allow you to reminisce on a journey through time through the overwhelming history of transport and highlight the importance of access to the lake. How else would you have known that the same Asco fountain stands on the other side of the world?
Land in sight
Ruedi Fürst also provides refreshing drinks to quench your thirst. Time flies. Passing the Inseli fishing harbor, the one-and-a-half-hour trip draws to a close. Catch one last glimpse of the cityscape or the Säntis mountain landscape before it's ahoy and welcome back to dry land! Those who would like to enjoy this experience themselves can book the harbor tour either on fixed dates or for individual group excursions. Children and wheelchair users are also welcome on board.
