Bucket list for active people

Its flat landscape and extensive shorelines make the Lake Constance region a mecca for cycling tours, hikes and active fun on and around the water. Here we have put together the best summer experiences for guests hungry for exercise.

Golfing in a different way? Yes, you can. With football golf. As the name suggests, this young trend sport combines football and golf. The aim is to sink the ball into the final hole with your foot without a club and with as few "kicks" as possible over various obstacles. The 18-hole course in Thurgau was built close to nature and planted with native plants. The biodiversity stations on the site tell you more about this. The football golf course can be reached on foot from Müllheim-Wigoltingen railroad station in around 15 minutes. A barbecue area near the Thur invites you to barbecue and cool off in the river after playing.
At various stand-up paddle rental stations along Lake Constance, newcomers as well as those with short notice can discover and experience this trendy sport. Equipped with a board and paddle, you can go shore hopping or explore the peaceful bay on Lake Constance from where you started. Our tip for early risers: enjoy the sunrise over the lake on your board and listen to the lapping of the water.
You are pulled across the shimmering blue waters of Thurgau on your wakeboard by boat or lift and glide through the waves far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Experienced and courageous wakeboarders even dare to jump over the jump. You can wakeboard in Thurgau at four different locations on Lake Constance and in Hinterthurgau. It is possible to hire the equipment, consisting of board, vest and helmet, on site.
The Rhine Worlds are an e-bike route with 15 adventure stations along the Rhine. Regional specialties, cultural highlights and impressive natural landscapes make each stage special. Whether as a day trip or a journey lasting several days - the route offers plenty of inspiration. Ideal for anyone who wants to discover Thurgau and Lake Constance in an active and sustainable way.
Extensive orchards, sublime country estates, original museums and views of the vast blue: the Tour de Thurgau combines the highlights of the Swiss canton of Lake Constance on two stages and a total of around 150 kilometers. Sometimes directly along the shore, sometimes in the best vantage point on the lake ridge, the Tour de Thurgau is the perfect choice for those hungry for exercise.
Close to the lake, the Mittelland Skate first takes you through the typical Thurgau apple orchards before heading up the slightly hilly terrain to Hagenwil Castle. This section is not entirely undemanding; less experienced skaters can switch to sneakers. The route continues past the Hudelmoos nature reserve and Bischofszell. Finally, the route follows the course of the Thur and you reach Weinfelden. From Weinfelden, the route follows the foot of the Ottenberg with its lush vineyards and then heads through the middle of the Thur plain to Frauenfeld.
Want to train your body and mind in equal measure? At the thurclimb climbing hall in Weinfelden, walls up to 16 meters high and a bouldering room will challenge your technique, skill and willpower and allow you to be active regardless of the weather. You can be there in five minutes on foot from Weinfelden train station.
The beer route from Roggwil to Rorschach combines exercise with regional beer enjoyment. Local breweries with a variety of specialties and exciting stories await you at four stops. Ideal for anyone who wants to experience Thurgau in an active and enjoyable way. The offer can be booked on Saturdays, subject to availability.
The pump track, which is around one meter wide, is a specially designed "bike trail" with waves, banked turns and jumps. Speed is built up with "pumping" up and down movements. Originally it was for bikers. Today, adventure-seekers also ride it on skateboards, scooters or inline skates. In Thurgau , some of these tracks can be found in beautiful locations by the lake in Salmsach, Güttingen or in the countryside near the Frauenfeld swimming area. Once you've finished pumping, it's not far to jump into the lake or the outdoor pool next door or have a drink in the cozy summer bar.
