The fireplace on the ruins of the Castell castle above Tägerwilen offers a unique atmosphere amidst walls dating back to the 12th century. It's about a 20-minute walk from Tägerwilen railroad station and parking is available on site. Freudenberg in Stettfurt

This fireplace is located at the western end of the Immenberg with a fantastic view of the Hinterthurgau hills and the Alpstein. From the Freudenberg restaurant, walk uphill for around 200 meters and then turn right onto the dirt road. After a 10-minute walk, you will have reached this idyllic spot. Nussbaumersee at the Moos bathing area

This beautiful barbecue site with bathing facilities is an insider tip shared by the people of Thurgau and Zurich - it is located right on the cantonal border. There is a parking lot on the road from Uerschhausen to Stammheim, and from there it is only a few steps to the barbecue area. Feldbach in Steckborn

In Feldbach, a spacious park to the west of the small town of Steckborn, there is a barbecue area right on the shores of Untersee. Before or after the barbecue, the lakeside promenade invites you to take a leisurely stroll and the Feldbach area is also an ideal starting point for fun water sports activities such as diving, sailing or rowing. Aumühle near Frauenfeld

The Aumühle barbecue and playground is located just outside the town of Frauenfeld directly on the River Murg. While the parents put a sausage on the barbecue, the children can let off steam on the playground and in the adjacent forest. The site is also part of the "Rugelreise" trail and is perfect for a leisurely break along the way.

Stählibuck near Frauenfeld

At Stählibuck in Frauenfeld, two idyllic fireplaces invite you to linger. The first is located directly at the foot of the 27-metre-high Stählibuck tower and offers an ideal opportunity for a rest after the climb. The second, larger fireplace with adjoining playground is located at the Stählibuck reservoir, around 20 minutes' walk from the tower. Both sites are surrounded by a shady forest and are ideal for a family outing with a barbecue and fun.

Little Venice in Kreuzlingen

The barbecue area in the Kreuzlingen "Little Venice" area is located directly on the shores of Lake Constance and next to the boat landing stage. Barbecues are cooked here in a very "maritime" style on two ship-shaped barbecues. The Seeburgpark with its large adventure playground, zoo and mini golf course is located in the immediate vicinity. Barbecues are not allowed in the Seeburgpark itself, but there are nice spots for picnics.

Arbon riverside park

Between the castle and the lake, the fire pit next to the Arbon playground offers everything a child's heart desires. The playground is one of the largest in the region. There is a large slide, climbing frames, an old steamroller and a bird's nest swing. The barbecue area with picnic table and benches is ideal for a barbecue with a view of the lake.
