Microbreweries in Thurgau

Thurgau is home to a handful of small, original microbreweries. Whether it's Klosterbier from Fischingen, Hopfenbräu from Stammheimer Hopfentropfen or Barfuss Bier - they all impress with their uniqueness and careful production with a lot of passion. In addition, the Thurgau breweries have come up with plenty of ideas to inspire their guests: you can brew your own beer here or taste your way through all the creative creations from the brewers' special and experimental series. Cheers!

Klosterbrauerei AG is the only monastery brewery in Switzerland that truly brews its own beer on-site. A variety of gourmet beers are produced and sold here under the name "Pilgrim." Behind the ancient walls of the Benedictine monastery, they brew either according to traditional abbey recipes, as Grand Crus (extra-strong beers), or as craft beers. Pilgrim is available online, through select retail outlets, and at the brewery shop in Fischingen. Of course, you can also tour the brewery and sample the excellent beer.
The Barfuss Brewery in Bürglen is a small, exclusive, family-owned brewery. They offer tours, tastings, team meals, and much more related to beer. They also initiated the first Thurgau beer train ride. Their home-brewed beers are available in the online shop and in various specialty stores. Their beer sommeliers will be happy to advise you on beer selection and introduce you to the world of beer.
Master brewer Michael Reichel's heart beats for "liquid gold." In the small brewery cellar in Roggwil, he's constantly working on new specialty beers. The beer garden in Roggwil is a cozy meeting place for an after-work beer. A refreshing beer is often served with a small snack. Inquiries about corporate dinners or aperitifs are welcome.
Brauhaus Sternen, the "birthplace" of Ittinger Klosterbräu, has been brewing and serving classic beers since 1904. Groups of six or more are also given the opportunity to help shape their own beer, from the brewing process to the label. In between, the "brewing apprentices" are treated to delicious white sausages and brewery goulash. Those who don't want to get involved can enjoy a relaxed brewery tour. Brauhaus Sternen in Frauenfeld is also the perfect venue for seminars, banquets, and other celebrations.
On the Reutimann family farm, almost everything revolves around hops. In the lovingly decorated farm shop, customers will find not only classic farm products but also a variety of their own hop creations. The hop brew can be purchased on-site. The family cultivates a quarter of the hops grown in Switzerland, some of which also finds its way into their own hop brew. The farm offers brewing seminars, whiskey and beer tastings, and beer competitions. Those interested in learning interesting facts about hops can take a guided tour of the hop trail.
