Napoleon III, the last emperor of France, grew up at Arenenberg Castle. Even back then, guests were treated to princely meals and the castle cultivated its own wine. Today you can still feast in the Bistro Louis Napoléon, with a view of the castle, where the Napoleon Museum is now located. Under the motto "seasonal, regional - always fresh", the bistro lives the philosophy of slow food. From October to Easter, guests can also enjoy "Les Quatre Heures". A light afternoon meal, similar to British afternoon tea. Sweet and savory snacks, arranged on an etagere, are served together with exquisite teas and, on request, a glass of Arenenberg sparkling wine.
The Landgasthof Aachbrüggli specializes in coffee, cakes, sweets and breakfast. No wonder, because that's where the strong team of women started before taking over the restaurant and hotel in Erlen. The women are particularly proud of their delicious barista coffee, the best far and wide. This goes well with the Aachbrüggli specialty "Schokoschäumli", the freshly baked cakes and the daily breakfast. All the ingredients come from Erlen or the neighboring village. Flowery wallpaper and beautiful decorations round off a visit.
The Rhyhof in the center of Frauenfeld welcomes you in Viennese Grand Café style. A passion for coffee is a top priority here and coffee beans are carefully selected. Only the best and most intense aromas are added to the coffee by the local barista. The second passion at the Rhyhof: baked goods! These are made fresh every day in the bakery. Here, every dough is created by hand and with a lot of love. All products are made according to old in-house recipes using regional ingredients. Try and enjoy.
At the Museumslaube in Frauenfeld, guests are welcomed with a small, carefully selected range of self-service drinks and snacks. The bright interior has style. The poisonous plants from the region on the walls show their most beautiful, not toxic, side. Once the sirocco tea and coffee have been drunk and the magazines browsed through, the free nature museum and the Thurgau Museum of Archaeology can be explored.
The beautiful ambience in the cozy Gottlieber Seecafé with its secluded terrace right on the water invites you to spend some relaxing hours. With a fragrant cup of coffee, a cool beer or a good glass of wine, guests can unwind and watch the flowing waters of the Seerhein. It's sure to give you that vacation feeling. A stroll through the picturesque village of Gottlieben, which is one of the most beautiful villages in Thurgau, is highly recommended.
Restaurant La Terrasse is located in the heart of Frauenfeld's old town. In an inviting atmosphere, you can start the day with coffee and fresh croissants. A rich menu is served at lunchtime and in the evening guests can choose something delicious from the menu. For in-between meals, the sweets from the confectionery are particularly well-known and popular. Only fresh and home-made food is served. The hosts attach great importance to regional ingredients.
