Historical Museum Thurgau

The flagship of the Thurgau Historical Museum is Frauenfeld Castle, a cultural monument of national importance. The castle invites you on a multifaceted journey into the past and represents Thurgau's history spanning almost 800 years. Admission is free.
The castle exhibition "Mystery of the Middle Ages" provides young and old with playful animations, atmospherically staged castle rooms and an informative tour. Historical knowledge about Thurgau in the late Middle Ages, when Frauenfeld Castle was twice the focus of world events, is also presented.
Visitors can experience the turbulent period between the Council of 1414 and the Reformation in 1517, accompanied by four castle figures who bring the distant era to life with captivating dialog, sounds and light shows.
Families with children can discover Frauenfeld Castle with the Kati and Sven puzzle card set, learn about the town's history on the Leuli Trail or embark on an action-packed search for clues with the smartphone game.
