Telephone Museum Telephonica

The TELEPHONICA telephone museum at the Greuterhof in Islikon offers a comprehensive review of the now centuries-long development of telecommunications, constantly updated with the new technologies that have been added and those that have already been superseded.
Officially opened in 1995, the museum currently has around 760 exhibits, many of which are unique in the world. The financial resources for running, maintaining and updating the museum are raised through membership fees and donations. All the people involved in the museum and the foundation work on a voluntary basis.
The museum has a varied design. The thematic areas are structured as exciting islands of information which, for example, provide an insight into the development of telephony in Switzerland, tell the story of the answering machine and mobile telephony or explain the theoretical principles of telephony
