Thurgau Art Museum

Thurgau Art Museum
With its top-class collection and attractive temporary exhibitions, the Thurgau Art Museum provides an exciting counterpoint to the idyllic past of the former monastery.
The core of the museum is the cantonal art collection, which has existed since 1942 and includes the estates of Adolf Dietrich, Carl Roesch and Hans Krüsi, among others. In total, the museum manages over 30,000 objects from the collection, ranging from photography, drawings and paintings to large-scale installations. In addition, internationally renowned artists have developed new works especially for the context of Ittingen Charterhouse. Janet Cardiff's "Ittingen Walk" takes the public on an unconventional tour of the two museums. "The Silent Library" by Joseph Kosuth focuses on the order of knowledge, while Muda Mathis retells the biblical story in a completely unconventional way in her "Paradise".
