Art border Constance-Kreuzlingen

The Kreuzlingen - Constance art border is unique in Europe. Instead of being separated by a fence, 22 sculptures by the artist Johannes Dörflinger mark the border between Germany and Switzerland.
The first art border has run along the shores of Lake Constance on the "Little Venice" site since 2007. In 2006, the city leaders of Kreuzlingen and Constance cut through the fence that was erected in 1938. The art border now stands where the lake area was extended by 300 meters in the 1970s.
The sculptures were created by the Constance artist Johannes Dörflinger. They represent the trump cards of the tarot and show motifs such as "Magician", "Love", "Chariot", "Wheel of Fortune", "Female and Male Power", "Death and Rebirth". The motifs symbolize the conditions of human existence. The sculptures are eight meters high, made of stainless steel and painted in hummingbird red above the light grey base. They blend harmoniously into the existing trees and are illuminated at night. They appear light and translucent and allow the viewer a variety of different perspectives: Sky signs by the lake
