Chapel St.Margaretha

The late Gothic chapel of St. Margaretha in the district of the same name in the municipality of Münchwilen was consecrated in 1642 and is frequently visited by pilgrims on the Swabian Way.
The current chapel of St. Margaretha was built in 1641 on the instructions of the Abbot of Fischingen and consecrated in honour of St. Margaretha by Bishop Franz Johann von Prassberg of Constance on 26 September 1642. Since then, the place has also borne the name of the chapel saint.
The current chapel replaced an older one that was demolished at the time. During the restoration from 1983 to 1986, attempts were made to restore the chapel to its original state.
