Lake Constance container

The Lake Constance container in Romanshorn is probably the most beautiful mini-museum in Switzerland. It presents exciting transport stories from the Lake Constance region. The highlight of the converted freight container is a three-dimensional Lake Constance luminaire with peepholes and a walk-on staircase to the container roof. Visitors can leave their mark on a chalk wall.
Once to Bella Italia and back - these were the marching orders of the so-called Lindau Messenger, which operated as a messenger service between Lindau and Milan from the early 14th century until 1826. Anyone visiting the new experience container in Romanshorn quickly realizes that the Lake Constance region is of great importance in terms of transport history.
The three-dimensional Lake Constance illuminated structure inside the container provides exciting insights into the transport history of Romanshorn, Bregenz, Lindau, Friedrichshafen and Kreuzlingen/Constance through various peepholes. The walk-on access to the container roof provides a real all-round view of the various players. Guests can also leave their mark on a special chalkboard wall.
The experience container is part of the Grand Tour of Switzerland (grandtour.myswitzerland.com) and was realized by Thurgau Tourism in close cooperation with the town of Romanshorn.
