The anteroom of the guild hall from 1681 is dedicated to the guilds of Stein am Rhein.
Various video portraits of selected people and animated films provide an insight into guild life in the 18th century. The mayor and chronicler Johann Georg Winz (1699-1759) brings the history of both guilds to life for us. The Herrenstube and the Kaufleutestube were the central meeting places in Stein am Rhein. This is where people socialized, initiated business deals and conducted politics. The location of the guild houses in the architectural structure of Stein am Rhein can be traced in the large model of the town.
