Cultural Encounter 5: Vienna Cello Ensemble 5 + 1

Admission free, collection
Works by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Bedřich Smetana and others, played by the Vienna Cello Ensemble 5 + 1.
Can you imagine just four musicians playing Maurice Ravel's "Boléro"? We think it takes some getting used to, doesn't it? If we then tell you that these four daredevils interpret the "Boléro" on just one instrument, namely a single cello, you probably won't believe anything we say... However, this is exactly what happened almost ten years ago - resulting in the international breakthrough of the Vienna Cello Ensemble 5 + 1 and almost one and a half million views of this video on YouTube. We are therefore delighted to invite you to our grand season finale with the five Viennese cellists and the Bavarian cellist Joanna Sachryn before the summer vacations. You can look forward to sonorous cello sounds, fine melodies and trenchant bass accompaniments from Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy to Georges Bizet and George Gershwin - and to impressive creative artistry and comedy.
