The bare concrete becomes a picture gallery in the Bleichestrasse underpass in the Kurzrickenbach district.
The art commission of the city of Kreuzlingen initiated the design of the wall surfaces of the underpass at the suggestion of the Kurzrickenbach neighborhood association. The creative teams from Offenes Atelier Mansio, Offenen Jugendarbeit Kreuzlingen (OJA) and the Besmerhuus association designed this open-air exhibition. Creations in words and pictures were produced. Acrylic paint was used for painting, writing, dabbing and spraying. The motifs are varied and freely designed by the artist's hand. A so-called salon hanging was created. This is the name given to a particularly close arrangement of paintings. These often reach up to the ceiling and the frames of the works hang close together. It is also known as a Petersburg hanging. This term goes back to the lavishly hung walls of the St. Petersburg Hermitage (art museum). The project was inaugurated in June 2021 by the art commission of the city of Kreuzlingen and the Kurzrickenbach neighborhood association.
