In her image patchworks, Donia Jornod weaves archive fragments from the Algerian War into multi-layered ensembles that play with the juxtaposition and resonance between the individual images. In this way, a kind of collective visual memory emerges from the barely comprehensible convolute of material that the artist found in the Paris archives, which creates new references and interpretations in reference to Amy Warburg's method of constellations.
