The garden year

The perspectives on "the garden" are numerous, if not infinite. What is clear is that gardens are always a reflection (or a form of representation) of the needs, wishes and dreams, the attitude and also the circumstances of those who plan, construct, use or maintain them. From the garden of paradise to the spaced-out green, from the garden as a metaphor to the fruit trees of Thurgau, from the front garden to the landscape park, from the garden gnome to the highly stylized dream of Romanticism. Taking the Kunstraum Kreuzlingen as its starting point, the exhibition projectThe Garden Year provides a platform for various cultural plants and artistic interests over the course of a year. With diverse exhibition contributions, forums, excursions and events, we approach the world of gardens in an eclectic, multi-layered and enjoyable way. The result of this investigation is open, the art space itself should be allowed to develop as a biotope and growing collection. We are therefore not planning to set up and dismantle exhibitions, but rather to open a first succession stage on March 22 with the Primavera Garden Forum, which will be allowed to grow and intertwine over the course of the year.
